Henry- Cranston, RI Children and Family Portraits

Henry is my little buddy! I've gotten to do three shoots with him and his awesome mom and dad. Darlene and Seth are great parents- you can see how much joy there is in just spending time together. They have a relaxed demeanor and are happy to let Henry just be Henry for pictures. Seth is great as my photo assistant- he stood over my to give me a shadow since it was VERY sunny that day. Roger Williams Park is a favorite place of mine to shoot- there are so many different "types" of places and we took advantage of it all!

Gabriella- Cranston, RI Children's Photography and Portraits

Gabriella has the most beautiful eyes. I'm not sure she knew what to make of the photo shoot- she had just woken up from a nap and was content to just sit and giggle but after she got going, she was on a roll! By the time the cake came out, it was awesome to watch her expression. First she ate just a little bit to see if she wanted it, then a little more and finally, she just sat in it. AWESOME! Melissa, Mike and I had a great time and they are such a wonderful family. You can see the love between all of them, not only from the energy in the room but from the pictures as well :)

Jeremy- Cranston, RI Baby and Children Photography

Jeremy came in for a visit and got to be the first kiddo to try out my new bed that Weston made. Did I mention how fantastic my friends are at supporting my business? Although Jeremy was not having any of us trying to rock him, white noise machine him, giving extra bottles to get him to sleep, we were able to get a few really cute ones. Good thing Courtney is around all the time (she works for my husband at Atlantis Pool Service) and we can try for a few more sleepy poses whenever she wants.

The Simone Family! Cranston, RI Family Photography

Ken and Steph both work in the same district I do. In fact, Ken and I teach at the same school and so I get to hear lots of stories about Ken's kids. He always jokes that they are full of energy and I got to meet them and see that wonderful energy in person. Adam and Andrew were so excited to show off their karate moves, make silly faces and give me a few brotherly hugs. Even though the weather was cloudy, these two kiddos brought a lot of sunshine.

I Heart Faces- Photo Challenge- Pets

There are those moments in photography when, for whatever reason, the stars align and the sun hits right and boom- you have a picture that you are pretty certain you couldn't get again if you tried hahaha! Not only do I LOVE these two dogs (they belong to two very good friends and are brothers from the same litter) but they were so well behaved. More of them can be seen here and here.

Flashback Friday- the cold edition! Cranston, RI Photography

In weather like this (meaning kind of warm but with the sad knowledge it will be cold again soon!), I feel it's necessary to think of warmer days. I don't do a lot of landscape stuff so these are just some pictures I took last spring and summer.

Flashback Friday- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

So, maybe I should call this Flashback any-day-of-the-week. I seem to NOT have it down for a series specifically on a Friday. However, this week, it will feature my niece Molly, who celebrates her 4th birthday on the 16th! This was from her birthday last year. Bryan and I are excited to go to her birthday party next Sunday. Oh, and did I mention I couldn't pick a picture so they are several, including my G-Gma Hess. This is Bryan's grandmother whom I adore. She is so talented and knitted me a neck warmer this year for Christmas.

I included this blurry pic because this is SUCH A TODD LAUGH and I love it!

Katharine- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

I just think Katharine is so cute and stylish. She is also a teacher but in New Jersey so I can't help but be a littttttle teeeeeny bit flattered she drove all the way here for pictures (well, and to eat at Brick Alley Pub). Katharine had all her outfits and looks coordinated and here's just a few...

Kelly- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

So, another friend of Ms. Suuuuuuuzi. Another ball of enthusiastic excitement. I really love Kelly's look. She's got beautiful red hair (that seriously, not one was out of place) and gorgeous blue eyes. She started by saying she felt a little awkward but we had her laughing and next thing you know- we had four outfit changes and some great pictures to show for it!

Jen- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

I caught up with some other URI alumni (and some of their friends!) at their fabulous girl's weekend in Newport. These are just a few pictures of the girls and Jen...who just got engaged this weekend! Congratulations Jen! You were lots of fun to work with since I think it's fair to say you and that leather jacket were fearless in the stairwell! Ha!

Family Portrait on Ice- Cranston, RI Family Photography

Angel and Matthew wanted to have a family photo taken (and yes, I did just photograph them three weeks ago!) and they knew of a time and place where everyone would be together- the tasting for their wedding dinner! Prior to going, they stopped by for a portrait and our original idea was to have them sitting on a stone wall. However, thanks to the weather and plowing, the stone wall is under about 6 feet of snow. So, we improvised. A garage door, a hill of ice and a black sheet. I love a family that can roll with the punches and they most certainly did- they were funny and laughed the entire time. As Angel's mom said, "We like the natural pictures." Well, that's good because so do I! At a later point, I will post some "outtakes" from this session because Matthew and his dad were very funny!

I heart Faces-Innocent Wonder

I had a super time photographing this little guy yesterday and while there were puppets, props, blocks, balls and toys galore, he was more interested in my lens. While we were trying to get a pic with Henry and his dad, he was inching a little bit closer and closer..... The next pic was his hand over the lens. Oh the wonder!

Diiiiiiiiiana- Cranston, RI Portrait Photography

Di and I have been friends since 1st grade. She had an awesome puff painted sweatshirt that I admired and a friendship was born. Di and I have the kind of friendship where you can go a few months without talking to and pick up right where you left off. She stopped by this morning for breakfast and the lighting was too much fun to pass up. Di has supported me in all things photography so far, and we've just added modeling to that list.
