Suzi and Matt- Providence, RI Engagement
/Most of the people who read my blog are family and friends (Hi gram!). Last year, I decided to take a break from weddings and focus on my children's work. I love weddings but weekends with my little guy are very important to me right now so I haven't committed to anything beyond what I already had booked. However, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to continue doing engagement sessions. I mean, love is a wonderful thing (had to get some Michael Bolton in there any way I can)! Suzi is Kate's sister and Kate designs most of my sets and creates my smash cakes. Suzi and I are fellow audio book lovers and enjoy going for half price sushi at any opportunity. We had this whole day planned and ideas for sessions and then BAM. The wind overtook us and we practically blew over to new locations. Wandering Providence was fun though- lots of color, beautiful blowing hair and a great sky! I can't wait for your big day and to work with Dawn Temple.

/Jeremy stopped by the studio for a few new portraits. His eyes are the most beautiful shade of blue. I think my favorite thing about these photos is that Paw Patrol made it in. Can't have a five year old without his trusty toys! Don't ever be hesitant to include your child's favorite book or toy in the photos. It will be a great reminder down the line.
The T Family- Wicked Tulips, Johnston, RI
/I love that I can call my friend Julie with crazy ideas and she's A OK with it. Like this time, when I told her to wake her kids up very early on a Saturday, drive an hour and meet me to do photos in the rain at a tulip farm! First of all, no one should ever listen to someone who says wake your kids up hahaha! It did turn out to be the perfect setting. Even though it was drizzling, the field was empty and the kids had the whole show garden to themselves. I loved taking their portrait and I ended up going back to grab a few of my son the next day. Be sure to check out Wicked Tulips next year. You don't want to miss it!

/This family is beautiful inside and out. I grew up with Michael and photographing his family has been so much fun. They ended up ordering a family portrait as a large canvas for over their fireplace and I received a photo of the final product. It looks great-- don't be afraid to order large canvases. They are such a statement piece for your home!
Parker is 2- Cranston, RI Family Photography, Johnston, RI Portrait
/Heather and I planned this session with warm weather in mind but New England weather has taken us all by surprise this year. The day of Parker's session was cloudy but as we pulled in to start the session, it started to pour. However, as they say, if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute. Sure enough, after a quick stop at the library to play with the train set, we were able to get back out there. The clouds didn't deter Parker from running around and seeing all the fun stuff the park had to offer (like a giant digger and backhoe behind a fence)!
The H Family- Providence, RI Portrait Photography
/Mom and Dad met on the Providence College campus, both worked there, got married there and of course, wanted to have their family photos there. I thought it was the perfect location for their photos. It was a place with special meaning and they felt right at home. The architecture of the buildings was original and provided an awesome backdrop.
Wes and Jen- Rhode Island Engagement Photography
/Ok, this is my #sorrynotsorry moment of 2016. There are a lot of pics in this post. It's hard to put into words how much of my photography business I owe to my husband and Weston, his business partner. They have put hundreds of hours, nails, laminate floor pieces and creative ideas into helping me make my studio. I can say with 100% certainty that if it were not for both of them, I would not be doing what I am. So, when Weston met Jen, I was kinda planning their engagement pics from their third or fourth date on. I met Jen early on and knew she was the right choice for Wes. We took a little road trip and ended up at Smith College to use their botanical gardens and true to what usually happens- the best laid plans go away. There were so many other cool spots that we never even made it there. I know their personalities shine through in these photos because they smile ALL the time when they are together (unless you ask how Jen's cat is. Then she smiles and Wes rolls his eyes. Not a cat person but LOVES HER ENOUGH to let the cat live with them hahahah). Enjoy!

/Their mommy runs a really great blog over at This Twin Life. Check it out to follow their journey of raising two adorable babies and get a great recipe for cookies in the meantime!
The E Family- Smithfield, RI Family Photographs
/I thought I was being so proactive in early January. I backed up all my sessions to my external hard drives, cleaned up Lightroom... had everything all set to go for 2016. And then it hit me. I hadn't finished blogging my sessions from the fall. Sigh. This weekend was the first time I had a chance to pull out the hard drives and get these beautiful sessions blogged. The E family was a referral from some other friends of mine and I was so happy to work with them. They were so sweet, easy going and I loved their outfits. I hope to photograph them again when their family expands by 1!
M is Two- Cranston, RI Children's Photography, Rhode Island Photographer
/M's mom made those adorable ladybug letters to go with the theme of her birthday party, but like any good toddler, M insisted the theme be changed to Doc McStuffins :) Well, at least all of mom's hard work resulted in an adorable little shoot with this little cutie. Her hair has the most delicate little curls and she loved my fake snow-- not that we've seen any in RI this December. You won't catch me complaining. It's allowed me to shoot outdoors much later than expected! Happy birthday, M!
